Women at "Reiff"
The current debate about the presence of women in the profession and in public perception also directs our attention to the Reiff.
In this field of research, scheduled for two semesters, we are specifically addressing the situation of women at the Faculty of Architecture at RWTH Aachen University. We want to trace the professional careers of female professors as well as female academic and non-academic staff from the founding of the Reiff Museum to the present day. In the coming winter semester, we will continue our project of making the work of female employees from the various disciplines visible and questioning it according to structural, content-related and methodological aspects. In addition to the continuation of the research work, this semester is concerned with the appropriate presentation of the research results and their contextualization in a superordinate scientific-feminist discourse. To this end, we are working together on an exhibition that will permanently supplement and correct the hitherto primarily male history of Reiff with the currently missing female perspective. A final catalog will be the goal of our work. Entry is also possible for students who did not participate last semester. Apart from the offer of the research field, it is also possible to take an impromptu course on exhibition architecture.
