Women at the Reiff

The current debate about the presence of women in the profession and in public perception also directs our attention to the Reiff....

In this field of research, scheduled for two semesters, we are specifically addressing the situation of women at the Faculty of Architecture at RWTH Aachen University. We want to trace the professional careers of female professors as well as female academic and non-academic staff from the founding of the Reiff Museum to the present day.

While the focus in the first semester will be on research and archival work on the diverse personalities, the second semester places the research results in the context of an overarching scientific-feminist debate. At the end of the seminar, the results of the research field will culminate in a jointly curated exhibition format that will permanently supplement and correct the hitherto primarily male history of Reiff by adding the currently missing female perspective.

A balanced ratio of male and female students is explicitly wanted.
