Abstract

This dissertation analyzes the impact of manual and digital design methods on the teaching/learning process. This has not yet been done with scientific methods in this form. The starting point of this qualitative research is a piloting of innovative teaching/learning methods with hybrid, manual and digital, design methods on the example of the seminar "Digital Me" in the research module for architects and urban planners of the RWTH Aachen University (empirical study). Based on the results of this research, recommendations for a future design theory are developed, which can optimally unfold manual and digital methods of design (synergy of theory and empiricism in a hermeneutic procedure).
